How to Choose Copy Method Between Normal and Enhanced?
Most of the latest DVD movies, such as Transformers 2, Star Trek XI, Disney-Pixar's Up and Bolt, attempt to prevent copying by creating bad sectors, potential fake main movie titles with considerable size, or bad DVD structure which will cause the burning process to fail. Is there a way to bypass these restrictions?
Fortunately, the current version of Any DVD Cloner has corrected these errors by introducing two DVD copying methods - Normal and Enhanced! Run Any DVD Cloner, and click Settings menu to open Options window shown below. Currently, the default copy method in Any DVD Cloner is set to Normal. Even if you switch the copy method option to Enhanced, the next time you open the program, the setting of copy method will go back to Normal.

How to use Normal Copy Method and Enhanced Copy Method:
Normal Copy Method: for Unencrypted and CSS Encrypted DVD. When Normal copy method is used, the program will focus on scanning the main movie title in a DVD. If there is bad cell in the main movie title, a prompt window will come up asking you to choose Enhanced copy method.
Enhanced Copy Method: for Encrypted DVD that has bad sectors and requires more times to decrypt. When Enhanced copy method is used, the program will try to read out as much titles as it can be detected in a DVD, and it will then copy all detected titles. Particularly, the program is able to identify the main movie during the scanning process, and skip all bad cells during copying process.
It's recommended to use the Enhanced Copy Method to copy the most recent DVD movies like G.I. Joe, especially for Disney DVD movies.
Notes:
1. You need to choose the Enhanced Copy Method before opening up a DVD movie in the program.
2. While the Copy Method option is set to Enhanced and the Scan Nums option is set to 5~7, it will take less scan times to decrypt a DVD; if Scan Nums option is set to 8~10, it will require more scan times to decrypt a DVD.
3. When Enhanced Copy Method is used, your PC may be stuck during the copying process because of the bad sectors in some titles. Please allow a few minutes for the program to work through those bad sectors.
Differences between Normal Copy method and Enhanced Copy Method:
Features of Normal Copy Method:
1. The program will focus on checking and determining the main movie title.
2. If the program can find out the main movie title where there is no bad cell being detected within that title, it will stop scanning other titles, and start analyzing the detected titles.
3. If the program can find out the main movie title where there is bad cell being detected within that title, it will prompt user to choose Enhanced copy method to open up a DVD. (For example, when you use Normal copy method to open Wall-E DVD movie, you will receive following notice asking you to use the "Enhanced" copying method.) However, for some DVD movies, such as The Proposal, you can continue using the default Normal copy method when you are prompted the following notice. If you switch to the Enhanced copy method, you can include the special features and extras to the copied DVD.

4. If the main movie title is being discovered, the program will automatically unselect those fake titles with considerable size.(You can see this from dvdcloner.log)
5. If the program cannot find out the real main movie title, it won't be able to copy the DVD correctly, then you need to determine the main movie with the aid of a media player such as VLC or Mplayer on your PC (see this page), and manually choose the main movie title to copy. (For example, if you have problem with copying Transformers 2 or Disney-Pixar's Up, you may need to manually select the main movie title.) Alternatively, you can identify the real main movie from dvdcloner.log file: After you open up a DVD movie in Any DVD Cloner, please click Help >View Logs, and then open the dvdcloner.log using Notepad or other word editor. Browse the log and you will find a line like this "copyMethod: Normal MainTitleNr: xx MainTitleSizeMB: xxxx". If the xx is not shown as -1, it means that the real main movie title is xx. So, you can just select the real main movie title xx to copy.
6. If the program crashes while trying to open up or copy a DVD movie, you can open dvdcloner.log to see if you can find "copyMethod: Normal MainTitleNr: -1 MainTitleSizeMB: -1", if you can find this line, it indicates that you might need to change the copy method or only copy the main movie title.
Features of Enhanced Copy Method:
1. The program will try to scan all titles including bad cells in a DVD movie.
2. Compared to Normal Copy Method, it will take much more time for the program to scan and analyze a DVD movie.
3. The program is able to locate the main movie title more correctly.
4. The program will copy all titles including potential fake titles. (This may create a bigger output size.)
5. The program will be able to skip bad cells during the copying process.
To learn more differences on these two copy methods, please look into the dvdcloner.log. Click Help > View Logs in the top right of Any DVD Cloner window to open log file location, and then open it with text editors like NotePad or WordPad.
Determining on which copy method is to be used depends on different DVD movies. If you encounter problem with copying a DVD movie, you can switch between Normal and Enhanced Copy Method to see if you can make it. You can also email us the dvdcloner.log file for analyzing, and we will get back to you as quickly as we can.
